My Old Car

I am in the market for a new car but not by choice. I don’t really care about what I drive as long as it gets me from Point A to Point B so I don’t need anything too fancy. Right now I’m driving a 10 year old Corolla that I bought from my sister that is going to drop its transmission any day now. I don’t know much about fixing cars but I know that is one repair that is almost never worth repairing when it isn’t under a warranty and I certainly don’t have one for this vehicle. I noticed it last week and it has gotten progressively worse. This morning when I was driving I didn’t think I was going to get it into 2nd gear. Anyways I’m off work for the  next 3 days so that is what I am going to be doing with my time.

I’ll start by checking out what looks good online and go from there. I know what I want to pay and how many miles I am willing it to have and that is pretty much all I care about. I don’t want anything too flashy but most cars aren’t. I will also be getting the cheapest auto insurance I can for it so I’m not worried about that either.

One thing that I won’t get is one that has a manual transmission. I don’t like driving with that because of my commute. It is all stop and go traffic and that is too much work especially in the morning when I’m still waking up. I’m the kind of person that sleeps in until the last possible second then gets up and is out the door in a flash. I shower the night before so all I have to do is get dressed, comb my hair, brush my teeth, grab my lunch and coffee and go. It only takes me about 15 minutes if that by the time I get up until the time I leave. I used to live with a guy named Jason and he was always amazed at how I did that. He was the complete opposite. He would have to get up an hour before he had to leave so he could drink his tea and watch TV before he got in the shower and so on. I could never see the point of that as I would rather spend that time snoozing.
